Gun dog Retriever Training (Two Month Program)

(Geared for Dove, Duck and Pheasant Hunting)

Major Emphisis:

To give the retriever a foundation on land and in water, for retrieving and control. With emphasis on marking, obedience and bird/gun work.

Phase I

Teach to be a scooper (Retrieve)

Introduction to Marking (Throwers)

Introduction to Gun

Introduction to Birds

Introduction to Water

Phase II

Obedience (Sit, Here, Kennel, Heel, Down)

Collar Condition

Steady

Water, birds, guns and decoys

Simulate a hunting situation - upland with Pigeons

Simulate a hunting situation - water with Ducks

Upland and Quartering

Phase III

Introduction to Lining

Introdution to hand signals

More Advance Training at a later time: We will work with the owner to bring his/her gun-dog to the dogs full potential.

> Long Marking

> Lining (pattern & cold blinds)

> Hand Signals (walking baseball/double T)

> Diversions

> Steady

> All areas of training are further expanded in training as per the finished

dog/results we have discussed and agreed upon.
